Second year PGA TOUR Champions event generates more than $1.5 million for charity in southeastern Michigan and beyond
GRAND BLANC, Mich. – Tournament Officials announced today that the second playing of The Ally Challenge presented by McLaren, concluded September 15, 2019, at Warwick Hills Golf & Country Club, raised $1,524,787 for charitable organizations in southeastern Michigan and beyond. The 2019 amount sets a new giving record for the tournament, surpassing the $1 million dollar mark for the first time in the event’s brief history.
Since its inception in 2018, The Ally Challenge presented by McLaren has donated a total of nearly $2.4 million in support of local charities in the greater Flint area and beyond.
The total includes $200,000 for each of the tournament’s primary beneficiaries, Genesee County Habitat for Humanity (GCHH) and United Way of Genesee County (UWGC).
GRAND BLANC, Mich. – Tournament Officials announced today that The Ally Challenge presented by McLaren was recognized with the Sales Award at the PGA TOUR’s annual Tournament Meetings on Wednesday, November 20 at TPC Sawgrass. The award is presented annually to the PGA TOUR Champions event which shows tremendous sales growth year over year, while establishing high sales marks in all areas. The Ally Challenge, which announced a five-year extension during tournament week, saw a 16 percent increase in year over year revenue. The tournament outpaced their peers by 61 percent in total clients, 12 percent in multi-year revenue and 23 percent in new business revenue, subsequently increasing their ability to provide charitable donations to the community.
GRAND BLANC, Mich. – Officials of The Ally Challenge presented by McLaren announced today a five-year extension of their agreements with title sponsor Ally Financial Inc., presenting sponsor McLaren Health Care, host venue Warwick Hills Golf & Country Club, and the tournament’s agreement with the PGA TOUR. With the existing deal in place through next year’s tournament, the extensions ensure The Ally Challenge presented by McLaren will continue as a PGA TOUR Champions event played at Warwick Hills Golf & Country Club through 2025.

In related news, dates for the 2020 The Ally Challenge presented by McLaren were announced today. The third playing of the tournament will take place July 27 - August 2, 2020.
GRAND BLANC, Mich. – Tournament officials announced today that two Michigan based bands, 3RD° Burns and Tripp ‘N’ Dixie, will open the 2019 Ally Challenge Community Concert for Multi-PLATINUM singer/songwriter Dierks Bentley.
The second annual Ally Challenge Community Concert is Saturday, September 14, 2019, on the driving range at Warwick Hills Golf & Country Club following the second round of competition at The Ally Challenge presented by McLaren. Concert gates open at 4 p.m. with college football showing on the big screen. 3RD°Burns will take the stage at 5:30 p.m. and Tripp ‘N’ Dixie at 6:30 p.m. Headliner Dierks Bentley is scheduled to perform beginning at 8:30 p.m.
GRAND BLANC, Mich. – Tournament officials announced today that complimentary admission to The Ally Challenge presented by McLaren is available to members of the United States Armed Forces (Active Duty, National Guard, Reserve, and Retirees) and veterans.

U.S. Armed Forces and veteran admission to the tournament includes access to the newly updated Dow VETerans DEN now located in a new structure on the 18th green at Warwick Hills Golf & Country Club. The Dow VETerans DEN is open daily from Thursday afternoon, starting at 12 p.m., through Sunday’s final round of competition.

Zetterberg joins golf’s greatest champion Jack Nicklaus, super-star recording artist and Michigan native Kid Rock, and Community Concert headliner Dierks Bentley to create a powerhouse foursome that will compete in an exhibition match to benefit charity.
The Celebrity Shootout will take place on Saturday, September 14, following the last tournament pairing of round two and beginning on Hole No. 10 at Warwick Hills Golf & Country Club.

Race set for September 14 will benefit the Greater Flint Olympian and CANUSA Games
GRAND BLANC, Mich. – Officials from The Ally Challenge presented by McLaren announced today that the tournament will host the CANUSA 5K Challenge, a run/walk event that will take place on Saturday, September 14, prior to the second round of competition at the official PGA TOUR Champions stop at Warwick Hills Golf & Country Club.
The CANUSA 5K Challenge is offered by Crim Fitness Foundation in partnership with The Ally Challenge. Crim is a Flint-based non-profit organization developed for the purpose of administering funds to carry out activities and events to promote health, wellness and active lifestyles.
The race is owned and operated by Crim Fitness Foundation and will serve as a fundraiser that will benefit one of Flint’s oldest athletic traditions, the Greater Flint Olympian Games and CANUSA Games.
The CANUSA 5K Challenge will begin at 8:00 a.m. in the clubhouse parking lot at Warwick Hills and follow a route on paved roads around the perimeter of the golf course, ending near the tournament’s Main Admissions Gate on Burning Tree Drive.

The Ally Challenge presented by McLaren has established a legacy of giving in southeastern Michigan, including raising more than $800,000 for charity in its inaugural year. The tournament will continue to positively impact the community in Genesee County and beyond by designating net proceeds from the 2019 tournament to benefit Genesee County Habitat for Humanity and United Way of Genesee County.
