The Ally Challenge presented by McLaren announces 2020 charitable donation - 2021 Tickets and Community Concert News

GRAND BLANC, Mich. – Tournament Officials announced today that the third playing of The Ally Challenge presented by McLaren, concluded August 2, 2020, at Warwick Hills Golf & Country Club, raised $801,563 for charitable organizations in southeastern Michigan and beyond. The 2020 amount continues the impressive giving legacy in the event’s short history.

Since its inception in 2018, The Ally Challenge presented by McLaren has donated a total of nearly     $3.2 million in support of local charities in the greater Flint area and beyond.

The total includes $363,690 for the tournament’s primary beneficiary, United Way of Genesee County (UWGC).

Birdies for Charity presented by Ally program returns for third annual tournament

  

GRAND BLANC, Mich.– Tournament officials announced today, that as a result of the ongoing health and safety issues related to the Coronavirus pandemic and in accordance with the state of Michigan’s Safe Start Plan, it has been determined that competition rounds for the 2020 Ally Challenge presented by McLaren, Friday, July 31 through Sunday, August 2, will be played without general public or corporate hospitality attendance at Warwick Hills Golf & Country Club.

The Ally Challenge presented by McLaren Statement Regarding COVID-19

PGA TOUR Champions announced on April 29, modifications to its 2020 schedule due to the ongoing health crisis related to COVID-19.

As a result, we wanted to provide an update regarding The Ally Challenge presented by McLaren’s 2020 playing, slated for July 27 – August 2. We are encouraged that this year’s tournament will be contested during its originally scheduled dates, and we welcome the restart of the PGA TOUR Champions season at Warwick Hills.

First and foremost, the health and safety of everyone associated with The Ally Challenge presented by McLaren and the state of Michigan is and will continue to be our number one priority as we navigate the ongoing Coronavirus pandemic.

It is important to stress as we prepare for the 2020 Ally Challenge, that we will absolutely continue to follow the advice and recommendations of the World Health Organization and the Centers for Disease Control along with local, state and federal government agencies.

Together with the PGA TOUR, we will continue to assess the challenges posed by COVID-19 to determine the best course of action for The Ally Challenge presented by McLaren, which – at this point -- includes a number of scenarios. We are committed to being responsible, thoughtful and transparent with our decision process and we expect to make further announcements over the coming weeks.

Matt Stepnes named Tournament Director of award-winning PGA TOUR Champions event 

 

GRAND BLANC, Mich. – Officials of The Ally Challenge presented by McLaren announced today that Matt Stepnes has been named tournament director of the HNS Sports Group managed, award-winning PGA TOUR Champions event, now entering its third year at Warwick Hills Golf & Country Club.

Stepnes joins The Ally Challenge management team after seven plus years with the PGA TOUR, including sales and marketing for the Genesis Open at Riviera and management within the PGA TOUR’s Official Marketing Partnership division of in-market activations at over 28 tournaments. Most recently, Stepnes served as the Sales Director for the inaugural Rocket Mortgage Classic PGA TOUR event at Detroit Golf Club.

Stepnes has more than 20 years of professional career experience in sports and event marketing, with a focus on golf and team sports, including the NBA, NHL and MLB. He currently resides in Rochester Hills, Mich., with his wife Valerie and their two children, son Jack (16) and daughter Taylor (14).
